I help authors strengthen their work with comprehensive editing that addresses both story and writing. This means examining plot, character development, and worldbuilding for clarity and consistency while refining prose at the sentence level and safeguarding your unique voice.
For the past 20 years, I’ve worked as a professional writer and editor across publishing, marketing, and technical communications. I hold an MA in English and an MFA in Playwriting, which have given me a deep understanding of storytelling, structure, and writing mechanics.
Having edited published works in urban fantasy and science fiction, I enjoy helping authors refine distinct stories and create clearer, more engaging manuscripts.
What I’ll Do
I review your work from both developmental and line-editing perspectives, evaluating the story as a whole while fine-tuning the details that shape the reading experience. My editing process includes:

Every edit includes detailed feedback explaining what works and what may need refinement, along with recommendations for revisions. A post-revision review round is included once you’ve completed updates.
- Annotated manuscript: Detailed comments, queries, and edits are tracked throughout the manuscript, addressing both narrative elements and mechanics.
- Editorial summary: A comprehensive overview of your manuscript’s strengths, along with actionable recommendations for improvement and revision.
- Ongoing availability: Throughout the revision process, I’m available to answer questions or discuss concerns via email.
- Post-revision review: A review of your revised manuscript to ensure edits are effective and identify any issues introduced during the revision process.
Pricing
Comprehensive manuscript editing: $0.03 per word
This rate covers both developmental feedback and line-level editing, along with an editorial summary, revision recommendations, and one post-revision review round.*
*A significant increase to manuscript length during the revision process may incur additional costs.
